Describe what you do: I am marketer by trade but I consider myself a creative. In 2015, I launched my own media company. Right now, the focus is on Black Web Fest. I realized Black creators had less visibility in media and also access to resources. This inspired me to start the festival. Annually the festival highlights these creators and provides educational resources as well.

How do you like your coffee: I am not a big coffee drinker. If I had to choose, I would say light and sweet.

Device(s) you use: I use a number of devices. I have a lightweight touch screen Dell laptop I use on a regular basis. My larger laptop I use for editing video, designing websites and bigger projects. That laptop has a better graphics card. If I am out and about, I need quick access to social media and emails having a phone with all the necessary apps is important. Also, from time to time, I use my Canon DSLR to capture photos or videos.

Describe your working style in one sentence: My work style is non-linear. I like to have a notepad with projects I need to complete on my desk. Depending on the day I may have a ton of new request or it maybe slow. Being creative sometimes is difficult so I switch back and forth to other projects if I’m stuck. I also look for inspiration everywhere. For me I am not satisfied until I find an answer or complete a project.

What does your workspace look like: It’s real minimal. I like having natural light and ability to see outdoors. I think now more than ever I want to feel connected to nature. I plan on purchasing a few succulents soon.

Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I love listening to contemporary gospel music, R&B, Soul, or soundtracks from musicals. Music is an escape. Sometimes I’ll play YouTube videos from the COLORS channel in the background. I enjoy that they showcase a lot of new talent on the channel.

Who would you like to nominate for the next Workflow interview: Lisa Marie Jackson.
