Describe what you do: I run my own copywriting business. I write copy and facilitate workshops for software companies so they can connect with more of the right customers.

How do you like your coffee: If I’m in Buenos Aires: a large black coffee. If I’m in California, I’ll have a coconut milk latte, please and thank you.

Device(s) you use: A 5-year old MacBook Air that’s light enough to tote around to all of the various different places I work throughout the day.

Describe your working style in one sentence: I work in 90-minute blocks focused on a single task, with my phone on airplane mode and Slack turned off.

What does your workspace look like: Usually my workspace is a cozy corner of my tiny Buenos Aires apartment. At this very moment, I’m staying in California with my parents during the pandemic, and my workspace is a spare room with assorted furniture I’ve found from around the house.

How does your workspace affect your creative process: I believe you can train your brain to get used to certain spaces for certain types of work. Whether I’m in California, home in Buenos Aires, or traveling somewhere else, I pick a place where I do deep work and only deep work, and I train my brain that that’s where the deep creative work happens.

If I’m in meetings, checking emails, or goofing around online, I’ll sit somewhere else so that I don’t “waste” my deep focus space. There’s an element of superstition in my workspace choices, but I think being intentional about where I do different types of work really helps me get into a creative groove.

Do you have a favourite playlist for work: Iconic Soundtracks on Spotify. It’s a good mix of drama and instrumental background music for creativity.

Who would you like to nominate for the next workflow interview: Tamara Glick, copywriter and stylist.
