Describe what you do: I’m a Design Director at Automattic working full time on the open source project, WordPress. I lead a team of designers focused on the new block editor where we are currently building a full site editing experience. I also co-host the Gutenberg Changelog podcast.

How do you like your coffee: Black and flavorless.

Device(s) you use: A MacBook Pro 13” with a 27” Thunderbolt display is where the work gets done. My iPhone 11 is used for testing and communication on the go.

Describe your working style in one sentence: I collaborate with people across the globe, so mornings are spent reviewing chat conversations, unblocking issues, and meetings; afternoons are reserved for deep work and further communication to prepare for the next day.

What does your workspace look like: I have a dedicated office space in my house so I’m able to shut the door and keep the kids at bay when work gets intense. Slack is always visible on my smaller screen, and various workspaces on the larger screen keep tasks divided.

At least two different browsers are running along with Figma, Visual Studio Code, and iTerm. I’ve got a Yeti Blue USB microphone used for podcasts and video meetings. My Dot.Grid notebook is never far when I need to sketch or write something down.

Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I normally don’t listen to music while working.
